The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications at the moment are open and will close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home having a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are 2025 nsfas application studying or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
